Lunar Lab™

A Curious Drop-In to Lunar Lab: Where Life Becomes an N-of-1 Experiment

Monthly New Moon Goal-Setting + Practice
A 29.5-day experiment in human behavior

Your life becomes the lab. You become the study.

In research, an N-of-1 approach focuses closely on one person over time.

Here, that person is you.

Your patterns. Your habits. Your choices. What gets your attention. What you say you want, and what you actually do.

Lunar Lab™ is a monthly framework for getting curious about all of it.

Each New Moon gives us a natural point to pause, choose something that matters, and spend the next 29.5 days putting it into practice.

Not to become a different person every month.

To become a better observer of the person you already are.

What Lunar Lab Is

Lunar Lab™ is a 75-minute virtual gathering held each month around the New Moon.

Part goal-setting. Part self-observation. Part real-life experiment.

We use the archetype of each New Moon as a lens for exploring a different area of human behavior, from goals and beliefs to security, curiosity, belonging, expression, habits, relationships, and communication.

Then we bring it down to earth.

What matters to you right now?

What are you noticing?

What do you want to practice?

And what might happen if you practiced it for the next month?

That becomes your experiment.

Why Monthly

Insight is easy to collect.

Practice is where things get interesting.

You can read the book, listen to the podcast, save the post, take the class, and still return to the same habits on Tuesday morning.

I know. I have approximately 37 tabs open too.

Lunar Lab gives all that information somewhere to land.

Each month creates a simple rhythm:

Notice. Choose. Practice. Observe.

You choose an intention, experiment with it in everyday life, notice what helps and what gets in the way, and use what you learn to inform what comes next.

Our brains can change through experience and learning, but what we repeatedly pay attention to and practice matters.

The 29.5-day cycle gives us enough structure to stop merely collecting insight and start doing something with it.

Why the New Moon

The New Moon gives us a recurring rhythm for beginning again.

Astrology isn’t used here to predict what will happen to you.

It’s used as a reflective framework. Each month, a different archetype gives us a different set of questions to consider.

Capricorn might have us looking at goals and structure. Gemini at curiosity and perspective. Virgo at habits and systems. Libra at relationships and balance.

Timeless archetypes meet practical tools for real life.

You don’t need to know anything about astrology to participate.

What We Do Together

Each 75-minute Lunar Lab™ has its own shape, but may include:

  • Reflection and guided journaling
  • The month’s New Moon theme and archetype
  • Human-behavior and neuroscience concepts
  • Breathwork, meditation, or visualization
  • Intention and goal-setting
  • A practical experiment for the 29.5 days ahead

The point isn’t to leave with twelve pages of notes.

It’s to leave knowing what you want to pay attention to next.

The N-of-1 Experiment

This is where Lunar Lab becomes a lab.

Instead of asking, “What’s the perfect morning routine?” you might ask:

What happens when I get outside before I open my inbox?

Instead of, “How do I become more confident?”:

What happens when I speak before I’ve rehearsed the sentence six times in my head?

Instead of, “How do I improve my relationships?”:

What happens when I listen for another thirty seconds before offering my solution?

Now you’re not simply consuming information about human behavior.

You’re observing your own.

Your month gives you data—not data in the clinical-research sense, but information about your patterns, preferences, friction, responses, and choices.

You notice. You adjust. You learn.

Then the next New Moon gives you another opportunity to begin.

The Science Behind the Practice

Lunar Lab™ is informed by principles of learning and neuroplasticity, including psychologist Dr. Rick Hanson’s HEAL framework: Have, Enrich, Absorb, and Link.

In practice, that means we don’t just notice a useful insight and move on. We give beneficial experiences a little more attention and time to register.

HEAL may be woven into reflection, breathwork, visualization, and other practices throughout Lunar Lab™.

This May Be for You If…

  • You love learning but would like to spend more time applying what you learn
  • You have goals, ideas, and approximately seventeen things you’d like to become better at
  • You appreciate science and practical tools but are also curious about symbolism, cycles, and meaning
  • You want a regular place to check in with yourself without turning personal growth into another full-time job
  • You like the idea of asking, “What am I noticing about myself lately?” and doing something interesting with the answer

The Rhythm

We meet virtually around each New Moon for 75 minutes.

Join live or watch the replay.

Bring a journal, a pen, and some curiosity. Your birth chart is welcome but absolutely not required.

FAQ

Is this therapy?
No. This is an educational, experiential, neuroscience-informed personal development practice. It is not therapy or a substitute for mental health care.

What is neuroplasticity?
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s natural ability to change, adapt, and rewire itself through experience. The practices in Lunar Lab are designed to work with this capacity, supporting intentional change rather than unconscious repetition.

What is positive neuroplasticity?
Positive neuroplasticity is the process of deliberately strengthening beneficial experiences—such as clarity, safety, or insight—so they move from passing moments into more stable neural patterns that support how you think, feel, and respond.

What is polyvagal theory?
Polyvagal theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, explains how the nervous system responds to safety, stress, and connection. Lunar Lab uses this framework to support regulation, presence, and a felt sense of safety—creating the internal conditions where growth can integrate.

What is a lunation?
A lunation is the full lunar cycle, approximately 29.5 days, from one New Moon to the next. New Moons have long been associated with beginnings and intention-setting, offering a natural rhythm for reflection, choice, and conscious design.

Do I need astrology experience?
No. Astrology is used as a practical orientation tool to support timing and focus, not prediction.

What if I can’t attend live?
Replays are always available. Many members choose to practice when their nervous system feels most receptive.

How long is the commitment?
This is a monthly membership. You may cancel at any time.
