What is Breathwork? 

I like to describe Breathwork as a method to access a mindful awareness practice like meditation. Through using a breath pattern in a continual practice, the thinking mind is softened. In this more soft mind or embodied state, tension (emotions in the body that are stuck or held) in our energetic body are able to surface and be released. This unblocks the creative potential that lives within the intelligence of our neurobiology.

What you need:

  • An open mind
  • Quiet, comfortable space to sit or lie down, eyes open or closed (an invitation to close the eyes to attune to your interior if it's available and feels safe)
  • A journal

What to expect:

  • a 3-5 minute breath practice (the breath choice will be guided on the audio)
  • a breath practice guided with music
  • with any breath practice (energy practice) especially for longer practices over 8 minutes, you may experience shifts in physiologic changes like tingling, numbness, dizziness, temperature changes, or emotional changes as unexpected emotions may surface.
